The self-balancing human transporter will provide an efficient and safe method of transportation over short distances. This project incorporates many multidisciplinary aspects such as computer engineering, mechanical engineering, and electrical engineering. We've had significant help and collaboration from students and professionals in these other disciplines.

This device already exists on the market as a Segway. The purpose of this device is to probe deeper into engineering principles such as design, construction, and testing. By choosing to replicate the Segway, we already have the knowledge that the device can be built successfully. This allows us to focus on the project without worrying about whether or not the project is feasible and to better appreciate what went into the original design.
