FETCH! is a system that finds stationary balls within a certain area and moves them back to a designated area. The system is designed to retrieve one ball at a time on a flat surface in fair weather with at least moderate lighting. FETCH! consists of five main units: an RC car and its remote control, a processing element (laptop, notebook, etc), a webcam, computer-vision software, and navigation software. The computer-vision software takes advantage of the OpenCV library developed by Intel.
The project was developed with focuses on simplicity (once the system has been configured) and reliability. It was partially funded the Department of Computer Engineering at RIT. Project documentation, user interface information, and interesting media are included on this website.
