BS/MS Dual Degree Option A master's degree in engineering is becoming increasingly important for the students, so that they can join the workforce prepared for the positions that they will be placed in. After their second year computer engineering students are given the option of joining the combined BS/MS program. This option is available to students who have a minimum cumulative 3.4 GPA. These students then go on to complete both a BS degree and an MS degree in computer engineering in five years The students have to go on co-op one quarter earlier than their peers, and they are only required to complete four cooperative study blocks. The last remaining co-op block is used to take courses. The students are also required to maintain at least a 3.0/4.0 grade point average to stay in the program. A graduate thesis is also required in the last year of attendance to complete the requirements for the MS degree.
